The last European round of Spring was held in England’s East Midlands at Donington Park. After elevating himself on top of the standings for the first time in his career, all eyes were on Rea’s first race weekend as WorldSBK leader, but there was another Briton ready to turn the tables, Tom Sykes.

With race 1 and race 2 firmly in the hands of the KRT rider, his teammate Loris Baz was twice second whilst local rider Alex Lowes claimed his maiden WorldSBK rostrum finish. After a spectacular final lap of the race, Michael van der Mark edged out Jules Cluzel at the finish line for the win in World Supersport.
